Strategy 2020 - towards the future with ACstyria
ACSTYRIA „GREEN CARS - CLEAN MOBILITY"
Since 1995, ACstyria Autocluster GmbH has considered its task to be linking up business, industry, research and public institutions in addition to identifying areas of strength and synergies. As a cross-company platform, ACstyria has set itself the target of raising the innovation performance of its members by means of cross-industry projects, seminars and events and increasing value creation in Styria. As Austria‘s premier auto cluster, ACstyria currently includes over 40,000 employees in 180 partner companies and generates an annual turnover of around 10 billion euros. The fi ve shareholders are AVL, Krenhof, Magna Steyr, SFG and TCM International.
Together with its partner companies, ACstyria will focus in future on innovations and technologies in the fi eld of „Green Cars - Clean Mobility" with three main priorities: ECO-Powertrains, ECO-Materials and ECO-Design & Smart Production. This means that in future, intelligent electrifi ed powertrains with the appropriate range, assemblies and components made from environmentally-compatible and resource-saving materials, and cost-effi cient production technologies will play a signifi cant role in ACstyria‘s work.
In order to be prepared for the future, a new strategic alignment of the Auto-Cluster has been elaborated. „Strategy 2020" can be summed up by the title „Green Cars - Clean Mobility". This motto encompasses three clearly defi ned areas of emphasis. The goal that unites all three is that of positioning Styria as an automotive region where work is carried out on innovative technologies and solutions aimed at reducing adverse environmental impacts due to mobility. The three key areas of ACstyria‘s new strategic alignment are ECO-Powertrains, ECO-Materials and ECO-Design & Smart Production.
Our Vision:
Styria is a competence center for ECO-Powertrains and intelligent peripherals with worldwide recognition in both the powertrain sector and ECO-Material Solutions.
Styria is one of the most cost-efficient locations for automotive production and engineering in Europe where superior knowledge and intelligent processes are used to achieve results which help to save even more energy and resources.
In the field of ECO-Powertrains, i.e. intelligent electrifi ed powertrains, Styria is already very good on the development front and in also in some areas of production with the prospect of developing into a world-class region.
On the topic of ECO-Materials, ACstyria is spending an increasing amount of time on this because using materials that are environmentally-compatible and conserve resources is a major factor in mastering the challenges that the automotive industry is facing. Intelligent utilization of materials and lightweight construction play a crucial role in reducing
CO2, energy and fuel economy, and reducing costs and weight.
The third area of emphasis, ECO-Design & Smart Production, formulates the goal of turning Styria into the most cost-effi cient site for automotive production and engineering in Europe, where superior knowledge and intelligent processes are used to achieve results which help to save even more energy and resources.
