Sustainable technologies have been key competencies of Styrian companies and research institutions for many years. This success is based on excellent cooperation between universities, universities of applied sciences, research centres and industrial enterprises. Together with its shareholders, the Mobility Cluster ACstyria has elaborated three areas in which the partner companies are supported in strategic and content related terms in a well-aimed manner.
As far as our CO2 footprint is concerned, we are following big footsteps in the true sense of the term – it is time to become greener in any respect. Environmental protection and thus ecological technologies are important to the mobility sector as a whole. This includes consideration of the whole life cycle of a product – including recycling.
The more lightweight a means of transport is, the less energy will be required for enabling transport. Intelligent materials technology and a well-thought-out material circle will make it possible to produce in a manner that is more economically efficient and will help to save the environment even more. Lightweight construction and additive manufacturing are priorities of our work in all branches of mobility industry.
The entire powertrain of a means of transport can be considered under ecological aspects – from the optimization of conventional drives to alternative drive systems.
